The history of genuine Tyrolean hospitality
WHEN THE STORY OF A BUILDING BEGINS WITH A MIRACLE, IT MUST BE A MAGICAL PLACE.
Here we chat a bit from our sewing box and take you on a journey through time to the unique history of your and our second home, the Hotel Klosterbräu.
Guests say it is unique. Especially because of the unmistakable charm and the very down-to-earth Tyrolean hospitality.
We say: we love what we do and spread as much magic as possible for our guests every day.
Our history
1386 - The Host Miracle of Seefeld
Knight Oswald forces the bishop's host and sinks knee-deep into the stone floor during mass. Seefeld becomes a place of pilgrimage - tourism begins.
1516 - The builder Emperor Maximilian I founds the monastery.
This Habsburg emperor falls in love with the place called "Sevelt" while hunting and endows a monastery to accommodate the electors.
16th century - The Augustinian Order as hosts.
The monks entertained pilgrims, nobles and travellers with products from their own farm, fish farm and brewery - for 200 years.
1809 - From monastery to family business
The monastery is secularised and closed. The postman and the butcher of Seefeld purchase the entire property at auction - the host-seyrling tradition begins.
1942 - 1952 - Expropriation for the common good
The Seyrling family had to leave the monastery by 1953 because the building was needed as a hospital. The sale of forest financed the reconstruction.
2005 - The 6th generation
With a lot of cordiality and genuine hospitality, nine family members and relatives are now working in the hotel. The 7th generation is often frolicking in the hotel's children's club....

Your favourite hotel with the hosts of TODAY
For over 200 years we – your hosts, the Seyrling family – have been there for you as a strong team.
A total of 8 family members run around taking care of your well-being. Each one of us has their own strengths, which they pursue with passion and commitment.
Your hosts are as versatile and multi-faceted as your favourite hotel.
Alois & Agnes Seyrling
Apart from the well-being of his two ladies Agnes (wife) and Margarita (daughter) and his son Luis, direct contact with guests is his top priority: legendary wine cellar evenings (sitting is a must!) are just as much a part of his "specialty" as sporty hikes through the Seefeld nature. Ask the regulars – these moments are unforgettable!
As Alois' wife and mother of Margarita and Luis, she already has her hands full, in addition to managing the Sales & Housekeeping departments. The lovingly compiled children's and family program of the Hotel Klosterbräu also springs from her pen.
An indispensable part of the Klosterbräu family.
Cristina Seyrling
She pulls the strings in the background and keeps the big Klosterbräu family together – just as it should be for a real Italian head of the family. She knows a thing or two about ambience and decoration and comes to rest during relaxing yoga sessions.
Linda Seyrling
The little sister of host Alois with great commitment. As a young mother of two, Linda is constantly planning and managing projects for us, e.g. the sale of our old room furniture during renovations.
Laura Seyrling-Rieß
Laura not only completes the three Seyrling siblings, she also manages the wellness and spa area, an important cornerstone of the Hotel Klosterbräu. She has obviously inherited the family gene from her mother Cristina and is now a mother of two children, daughter Emilia and son Elvis, and wife of Wolfgang Rieß.
Wolfgang Rieß
Operative Director with a focus on staff, technology, authorities, conversions & investments. He is the technology enthusiast and knows every nail in the Hotel Klosterbräu - he has already hammered many of them into the historic walls himself. As Head of Engineering, he is always at the forefront when it comes to conversions. In the area of human resources, he demonstrates knowledge of human nature and a sure instinct. No talent has ever escaped him ;) For relaxation, he likes to cycle with the guests across the Olympic region and spend relaxing hours with his family.
Clemens Seidenberger
A real Tyrolean with a big heart. As an activity guide he takes every nature lover to the most amazing mountain peaks and most impressive natural lakes, and knows the region like no other. In a dream team with dog Benni, the likeable nature lover and cousin of the Seyrling family puts together the best tours for the guests – no matter the fitness level.
Nadine Albrecht
She is our grand cousin and the ninth family member in the hotel. But most of all she is there for the animals in our vegetarian farm. Nadine is a farmer at Sigi's Sauhaufen and always one with Mother Earth. Her favourite place in the hotel is in the straw with the animals. A real paradise for her.
Hosts that truly care
As our guests confirm, it is not easy to describe the Klosterbräu, because it is a feeling - and feelings are not easy to put into words. It is especially heart-warming when new guests realise during their first stay: You really are YOUNIQUE. Unique. Warm-hearted. Charming & down-to-earth. You can feel in the attitude and honest friendliness of the staff that there is a family business behind it - with 500 years of tradition, yet with youthful ease.
The hotel is full of lovely little things to discover and many things are even more beautiful in person than in our external presentation. "We see our profession as a true vocation and we are lucky to be able to combine our private life, our family and our passion with genuine hospitality."
We are proud of the generations before us and look to the future full of joy and confidence and with a lot of verve and drive. This is what we stand for. This is what we live for. Since 1516.
